Hardscape Services in Columbus, Ohio
Patios, retaining walls, walkways, steps, and outdoor kitchens. We build the stuff that holds up for decades, not just a season.
What We Build
Patios
Paver patios, stamped concrete, natural stone, we build outdoor living spaces you'll actually use. Proper base prep, correct pitch for drainage, and materials that handle Ohio freeze-thaw cycles. See our patio installation page for the full breakdown.
Retaining Walls
Segmental block, natural stone, and boulder walls. We build them with proper drainage behind the wall so they don't push out or lean over time. If your yard has a slope problem, a retaining wall is usually the answer. More on our retaining walls page.
Walkways & Pathways
Paver walkways, flagstone paths, and concrete sidewalks. We build them on a solid base so they don't sink, heave, or shift after a few winters. Clean lines, proper joints, and a finished look that ties your property together.
Steps & Staircases
Natural stone steps, paver steps with bullnose caps, and concrete stairs. Built to code, set on a solid foundation, and designed to match whatever hardscape surrounds them.
Outdoor Kitchens & Fire Features
Built-in grills, countertops, fire pits, and fireplaces. We frame them with block or stone veneer and make sure the utility connections are done right. Check out our outdoor living page for more.
Concrete Work
Poured concrete pads, sidewalks, and driveway extensions. Broom finish, exposed aggregate, or stamped, whatever fits your property and budget.
Our Hardscape Process
1. Site Visit & Estimate
We come out, look at the space, talk about what you want, and give you a written estimate. No pressure. No "limited time" pricing games. Just a straight number.
2. Material Selection
We help you pick materials that work for your budget and your property. We'll show you samples, explain the tradeoffs, and make recommendations based on what actually holds up in Columbus weather.
3. Build
We excavate, set the base, compact it properly, and build. Edgar is on site managing the work. We keep the job site clean and communicate with you if anything changes.
4. Walkthrough & Cleanup
When it's done, we walk it with you. If anything's off, we fix it before we leave. We clean up the site, haul off debris, and make sure your property looks better than when we showed up.
Owner-Built Hardscape
Hardscape work is only as good as the base it sits on and the crew that builds it. I've seen patios settle in six months because someone skipped the compaction. I've seen retaining walls lean because there was no drainage behind them.
That doesn't happen on my jobs. I'm Edgar Munoz, and I'm on every hardscape project from start to finish. I don't sub out the important stuff. The base gets done right, the materials are quality, and the finished product is something I'd put in my own yard.

Hardscaping Questions
What is hardscaping?
Hardscaping is the non-plant side of outdoor construction. Think patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, fire pits, and outdoor kitchens, anything built with stone, pavers, concrete, or block. It's the structural backbone of your outdoor space.
How much does hardscaping cost in Columbus?
It depends on what you're building. A paver walkway might run $2,000-$5,000. A full patio with seating walls and a fire pit could be $8,000-$25,000+. Retaining walls depend on length and height. We give free on-site estimates so you get a real number, not a guess.
How long does a hardscape project take?
A walkway or small patio can be done in 2-4 days. Larger projects like full patios with retaining walls and outdoor kitchens usually take 1-3 weeks depending on the scope and weather. We'll give you a timeline during the estimate.
Do you handle permits?
If your project needs a permit, like retaining walls over 4 feet or structures near property lines, we'll walk you through the process. Most standard patios and walkways in Columbus don't require permits, but we always check before starting.
What materials do you use?
We work with concrete pavers, natural stone, limestone, flagstone, segmental retaining wall block, poured concrete, and brick. We source materials from local suppliers and pick what makes sense for your project, your budget, and Columbus weather.
